Oklahoma Rummy Rules
The objective of Oklahoma Gin Rummy is to dispose of all the cards in your hand before your opponents by arranging as many as possible of the cards in your hand into runs or sets of cards.

| A run consists of 3 or more consecutive cards of the same suit |

Another objective is to reduce the total count of the unmelded cards in your hand, the deadwood, to less than the count of your opponents.
There are three ways in which you can win an Oklahoma Gin Rummy cash (ring) game: Ginning, Knocking and Undercutting.

The Play
In a two player Gin Rummy game each player is dealt 10 cards. In a three or four player game, each player is dealt 7 cards.
The remaining cards are placed face down on the table, forming the stock pile (facedown) and one card is placed next to the stock to form the discard pile (face up).
As with all online rummy games play commences and continues with the draw and discard.
The Draw
You begin your turn by drawing a card from the top of the discard pile (face up) or from the top of the stock pile (face down) and adding it to your hand.
The Discard
To complete your turn, you must discard one card from your hand and place it on top of the discard pile face up.
If the stock runs out, the discard pile is shuffled and placed face down to form a new stock. The card discarded by the player who drew the last card of the old stock is placed face up beside the new stock to start the new discard pile.
Gin
You can win by going "Gin", disposing of all the cards in your hand at once, therefore you have no "deadwood" (unmatched cards).
Knock
Instead of going for Gin, you can win at Oklahoma Gin Rummy by "Knocking". To do that, your deadwood count must be lower or equal to the opening card's face value.
The other players may lay off cards only on the knocker's hand, and only on the original matched sets.
So, if you Knock with

and one opponent lays off
on it, the next
opponent may not lay off the

This helps to reduce the deadwood count in the hands of your online opponents hands and is a reward for holding on to cards that the opponents are certain that the Knocker requires.
An example of laying off in a two player game:
| The Knocker goes down with: |

You are able to lay down two melds of your own and your deadwood is comprised of
and two fours. In this case, you can lay off the Jack and 6 of Hearts onto the Knocker's heart melded run, to reduce your deadwood count from 24 points to just 8 points.
You are not allowed to lay off any cards on the unmatched cards in your opponent's hand and, when you Gin, your online opponents may not lay off cards on your Gin hand. This is one advantage in going Gin.
Undercut
If the "Knock" value of the Non-Knocker is lower or equals the "Knock" of the Knocker, the Non-Kknocker wins the game and gets a special bonus of 20 points. This form of winning at Gin Rummy online is called the Undercut.
Scoring
| Defeated (Penalty Points) | |
| Gin | Sum of deadwoods + 25 penalty points. |
| Knock | Sum of deadwoods minus Knocker's deadwoods. |
| Undercut | Sum of deadwoods minus Undercutter's deadwoods. Knocker receives 10 penalty points |
Payout table for ring (cash) games:
The winner always gets at least 75% of the prize pool. The other 25% will be distributed to the rest of the players, in proportion to the ratio of their points to the winner's points, provided that they are less than 50 penalty points behind first place.
