A simple, skill-based group of card games, rummy has many variations and we aim to bring you all of them at 32RedRummy.
The aim of rummy is to be the first player (usually 2 to 4 players play on each table) to dispose of all the cards in your hand. Tournament play gives you the chance to pit your wits against many opponents from around the world. A tournament winner is the player who lasts longest or is the first to accumulate a certain number of points.
A number of cards is dealt to each player and the remainder are placed on the table (the stock pile). The top card is turned over (the discard). Each player, clockwise in turn, chooses a card from either pile. The turn ends by discard a card on to the discard pile. The aim of each turn and the overall principle of rummy is to form your cards into melds and lay them onto the table in the meld area.
A meld consists of either a set (3 or more cards of the same rank, for example three kings) or a run (3 or more consecutive same-suited, 10H,JH, QH for example)
As play continues each player in turn has the opportunity to draw and discard, forming all their cards into melds. As the player melds, the more cards are disposed of. The player who disposes of all their cards wins the game.
